Life Cycle Opens The Season Strongly

Well the first weekend of racing is over and done and the team preformed well. Saturday saw the races going off under sunny skies with a little chill in the air. As is usual for this race the wind was very strong and played a factor in the racing.

In the cat 1/2 men race Dave Wells and Mike Brunelle got into a group of 7 that formed with about 20 miles to go. While the break was absorbed at the 2k mark Dave was able to give it one last heroic kick and held off the charging field to take the win. This was Dave’s first win and a great one for the team.

James Jorgensen got himself into an early forming break in the men 3 race which went on to stay clear of the field all day. In only his 2nd race as a 3 James finished 12th and we’re expecting to see him in the 1/2 field before long.

The 3 women kicked some serious butt. Rachelle Jorgensen finished 2nd while teammate Marie Osborn crossed the line in 5th. It won’t be long till both of these fast women cat up and join the 1/2 field.

Completing the long comeback from an injury which saw her miss most of last year Kristen Fauria also made the winning split in the women 4 race and came home in 7th. Kristen has been working hard at her PT which include weights and running. She’s only been back on the bike for a few now and once her bike legs come back, well there’s a reason why the guys at the shop call her a beast on the bike.

Stephen Kocher in his first race managed to shoot out of the cat 5 men field and place 3rd. A few more results like that and he’ll be upgrading quickly.

Overall a great race which everyone should feel proud of
